Well after having a ton of rain the weekend before the weather man said we were supposed to have a good weekend well till Sunday afternoon that is but I planned to be home before then! there was supposed to be a cold front come in on Sunday! oh well I loaded up and headed to Sharon the ride was cool but nice! I rode up to Guthrie on Broadway then west on 33 stopping long enough to check on a couple I know that were stopped at the corner of 74 and 33! then it was on to Kingfisher and then to Watonga where I stopped again to get some gas!  I ran into an old club'er out of Texas we visited a few then I took off again I rode thru Seiling and finally got to the turnoff to Sharon I turned left and made it about 2 miles down the road when I found a road closed ahead sign!

I figured it must be past the turn off to the drags because the sign for the drags was at the turn off, I did slow down a little just to be safe watching the road ahead! I got to sign that said detour, well maybe they are doing some little thing i can ride around. I go around the sign in the road and go about a half mile when I see a big pile of dirt in the middle of the road. I stopped the bike and got off and looked behind the dirt to find a hole about 12 ft deep all the way across the road and huge chunks of concrete washed out into the pasture! opps! I looked to see if maybe I could kind of go around but it didnt look promising so I headed back to the detour sign and followed. It was pretty smooth for a dirt road even though there was lots of large stone pushed down in it!

A mile down the road there was a turn and as soon as I made the turn  was glad I was not going fast the sand was about 14 inches deep and soft as hell! it thru the bike around like a bucking bronc! first the back tire tried to jump out from under me them the front wheel wanted to run over into the ditch! it pitched me back and forth for about a hundred yards then it got a little solid and I managed to go about 35 mph for a 1/4 mile then it got soft again for about a hundred yards it followed this pattern for two miles,  I was worn out by the time I got to the corner to turn back to the camp ground! when I made the next turn I had hard pack again all the way to the turn in to the camp! the road into camp was not too bad except for the big wash out across the road but there was a new road around it!

I made it into camp. when I went over to my normal camp area I had trouble finding it because water had washed away the roped off area for the Dawg pound. well I found a simi smooth spot and set up camp!  I spent most of the evening enjoying the company of the brothers and sisters! but like most called it a night about midnight my shoulder was telling me I had put it thru a lot trying to navigate that soft sand! it took a bit before could go to sleep but I finally did.  I woke up about 8:45 the next morning got up to pee and then went to get coffee. I even had an egg sausage and cheese sandwich for breakfast.  I took a few pic of Neysia  down the road from the the camp and when we did I saw there was not just one hole washed across the road but a second one even bigger!
