over the course of the week we had a few medical emergencies because of the heat! I do believe because of the medical shack and all the equipment in it there are at least 4 men who lived to see there grand kids when heat got them! I'm going to take a minute to discus something I heard a bunch of people gripping about the cost of getting into the party! now last I checked it cost a bundle to hire bands to entertain us and staff to take care of our ass's not to mention all the capital improvements Tony has made to make it a better party! lots gripped about having to stand in line to get beer so he built a bigger nicer bar that would accommodate more help provide shade in the heat and keep our asses dry when it rained not that we got to use that this year! he built a new tattoo shop and filled it with good artist so we could get new ink while we were there he built a Medical building and put equipment in it to take care of us when something goes wrong! all of these things are to make our party experience better! now if you go out to eat on any night of the week it will cost you about $15 for supper and a drink in a cheap place and more like $25 in some! and there wont be a band! the second drink will cost you $4 for a beer and $6 to $8 for a mixed drink! oh and did I mention Tony passed out $10,000 in cold hard cash to the winners of the poker run on the first weekend of the rally! now last I checked it was $100 for a person to get into Sparks for the 10 days that is $10 a day! now I said something to the one person they said well it was more if you brought your camper I almost choked because I had a motor home when I was in the Marine Corps and stayed in camp spots in 1990 when I got out it cost me $45 dollars a night for a hook up with electric! let me see that is $450 for 10 days! I don't believe it cost that much even now at Tony's and this is 2009 and shit has gone up a bunch since 1990! come on people if we can afford a motor home and a Harley we can afford the price of the party with all the bells and whistles! |
Tony and his staff work real hard to entertain you for 10 days! If, you think he is getting rich doing this, why is he still living in the same house and working on peoples cars all week when he is not working around his place to make it nicer for us! I don't mean to piss and moan but I have watched his place transform over the last 10 years I know what has gone into it! not to mention he sells you $1 beer! most rallies charge $1.50 to $4.00 go to Bikes blues and barb. and see what a beer cost you! ok enough on that come out and enjoy what Tony and his crew work so hard to put on! oh and yes I'm partial to Tony's staff but I'm partial to every staff that puts on a good party and put their hearts into it! ok back to the party! well Thursday folks decided to start to play a bit more, not because it cooled off any because it was still hot as hell! just that they were tired of sitting around! I know there was a time on Thursday I was helping with the games and looked around and was by myself! a few min later Dirty Dave from Ks. came over and apologized for leaving me but he had to go get in the shade because he was too hot! I know there was a couple of times I probably should have hit the shade but didn't! I was making sure you guys got the pic you wanted to see! I did managed to drink a whole case of the water tony had stashed around for the staff! some I drank plain some I added gator aid to! I made a couple of trips down to the gate to watch the American Hellriders perform on the wall of death! if you think you are a good rider try riding sidesaddle with no hands while going around in circles on the side of a wall at about 45 mph! I do beleive the ouch factor is a bout a 10 if you mess up! |
