I will give you a
short back ground here! I left Memphis Tenn, about 4:30 in the afternoon
on Friday and drove home I got home about 1 am Saturday tried to get
some sleep. I woke up about 8 am and started getting stuff loaded on the
bike and ready to head out. I got out the door about 10 stopped in Enid
and got gas and headed on I was hoping to do too things one get to
Waynoka before the rain did and get to the rodeo grounds before the games
opening ceremony starts. I was almost to the Carmen turn off when I
remembered the Eagle Chief creek bridge west of Carmen had
been closed for repairs the last two times I went to Alva! there had
enough rain that I didn't think I could
navigate the dirt roads around the construction well better to travel the
8 miles and see than go the 24 miles back track to go around!
I got lucky they had finished the repairs on the bridge so the road was
open, I breezed down highway 45 and hit the corner at 281 into
Waynoka I was at the city park just in time to throw my stuff into a
friend of mines' truck and grabbing my camera and heading to the rodeo
grounds! I got there and got off my bike in time to
gather up my camera and give a hug to a few of my friends before I had to
head to the arena to take pic of the flag and ceremony's

The VNV/MC
led the pledge of allegiance and Red's daughter sang the
National Anthem she has a good voice and did a wonderful job then the CMA
got a bunch of the bikes in the arena and did a bike blessing for all that
wanted, I got mine done again. since I had not had it done since my wreck.
then it was time for the games every one started lining up for the slow
race. the skys were getting blacker and the crew was trying to get the
games done smoothly before it started! we want to entertain the
crowd! lee jackson was on his game this time and took the slow race
plaque, Capt Abate and his wife took the doubles plaque

then on to the barrel push Im not sure who got that one!
then we did the potato race and Red and his daughter got first in that
one! the next event was a Easter egg hunt for the kids! they do three
classes bye age! so every one has a chance! i think they are under
3 three to 6 and over 6 but im not sure! anyway they put some money
in each egg! the kids seem to like it too. after all the kids get done
they moved on to the barrel races. They do these by the same rules as they
do for horses! then it was the final event the winnie bite! I did notice
lots of people were vacating the bleachers! and the sky's getting
darker! we worked quickly to finish this!
