I got started on taking pic then the games began and it was nonstop between taking pic and playing in the games! but for some reason I couldn't buy a trophy! Darrel and his old lady took home a hand full though! I did the slow race, barrel push wennie bite, and double slow race! We did have a guest speaker on the mike. but he swore he was not trying to make a come back! he did judge the bike show though! there was some rodeo action going on too! with a mechanical bull I think more ladies rode it than the guys! I even took a minute to take a pic of a couple of odd spectators watching from the stage! Garry judged the tattoo contest this year I concentrated on shooting pic of them but I think he picked the same one I would have! I took a bit to shoot some pic of a couple of ladies on bikes off to the side! then back out into the crowd to catch some more of the party! every one was having fun and it was not nearly so cold as the night before! some good tunes were played and every one seemed to be having a good time! the final stage show started a bit after midnight. ok well the warm up before did and it lasted till "O" late! I wondered off to bed a bit after! my night was short as usual and I woke up about 8 am got some coffee at CMA then started to break down! I managed to get every thing loaded and hit the road by 1130 by then most folks were gone! I did make a pass thru the camp ground and say my good bye's before I left! |
on my way out I stopped for gas and Curtis
Moore came in we were talking and he made a pretty profound statement! we
were talking about the people that come to Pawhuska and how we are a
family we may be a dysfunctional family but we are family! we get mad at
each other and argue among our selves but don't tread on one of us because
no matter how upset we may be with one of our own we will stand beside them
in a scrap! you can even be mad at some one but at biker park you will
look to see if they came and if not you will miss them! over the 14 years
I have been coming I have seen faces come and go and them show back up! it
is always good to see them return! sometimes we loose them for good and
then we morn the loss! I have attended more than one funeral of people I
know from here and yes I still miss them! yes we are family maybe
dysfunctional one but family just the same! if you haven't been here in a
while come back and see your friends most are still there! ok back to the
road! I left the station about 1230 and headed down 60 temp was about the
55 or so and the ride was nice. I stopped on my way to see if I could
assist someone broke down but the part they needed I didn't have the post
on there starter solenoid had the bake-a-lite broken around it so it was
not getting a good connection and needed a new one. they had a trailer
coming from Ponca City so I went ahead and hit the road! I hit I-35 and
headed south! it is 90 miles from there to my turn off and with the wind
in my face it seemed like it only took about 15 min to make the trip! then
I was backing the bike into the garage! well till next time. The Picture Man |
