well I had one
weekend to recuperate from sparks and all the heat from it! I had been
wanting to go back to the Booze Fighters party for several years but couldn't seem to
get there! I finally got loaded up and in-spite of the heat I headed out
for the pig trail I headed south on I-35 then east on I-40 all the
way to Arkansas. other than it being hot and I-40 being rough or under construction,
not that you can ride I-40 for more than 200 miles with out hitting some
sort of construction some where, not much happened I just enjoyed
the wind in my face! once in Arkansas I started looking for highway
24 north which is known as the pig trail
because of the curves! it can be
a challenge if you are riding very fast but i did enjoy the ride! i got
into camp about 8 that evening! i was supposed to hook up with my Friend
Booger but something had come up and he was not able to make it! but one
of the brothers made sure I got in ok! I was not even to a camp spot when
Moray and his wife of CMA waved at me. I camped a about 100
feet from where they were set up. just closer to the river! it
was a nice shady spot a little rocky but nothing sharp! I went about
setting up my camp witch didn't talk too long considering how often
I do this! I is amazing how you get used to doing things a certain way so
that it only takes a few min to set up,
I always make it a point
to make my house the way I want it before I do any thing else. There is
nothing worse than coming back to camp at 2AM dead tire and then having to
air up your mattress and make a bed before you can lay down and
sleep. for me it seems like sleep is a premium item when I'm on the
road! either it is too hot to sleep or something is going on to wake me
up. and I cant go to to bed till it all quiets down late night either.
don't want to miss anything! anyway after camp was set up I grabbed
my camera and headed out thru camp to see what was happening. people
were parting pretty good! and they stayed at it till about 2AM which is
about the time I finally wondered off to bed!
I woke up about 8am and wondered over to
CMA and got some coffee! then started wondering around shooting pic it was
only about 930 and people were already in the river trying to keep cool!
damn the heat this year! I wanted so bad to set my camera down and crawl
in the river too! instead I wondered around taking pic of everyone, and
all the bikes for the bike show too! I did find me a young lady to play in
the games with! it was her first time playing them! we didn't win but we
were always in the finals. speaking of games there were plenty to play I
had seen the water across the 2x4s before but had not played in it before!
it is pretty cool! the slow race, double slow race, balloon
toss, winnie bite, then after the games it was time to party!
