| and the start of the Hoosier Honey contest! none of you want me to miss that. I got a pretty good spot before the crowd got too big and waited! It wasn't but about 10 min before the beginning of the announcements they are an important part of this event! most times, they are not conducive to exciting pic, but I do try! after all that the show started and this is always a great show! the pictures tell this part! after the crowning of Hoosier Honey! the music started again! and then about midnight they drew for the new Ultra Classic! once again it wasnt me. then more music! some where late I made my way to bed! I was tired. I woke up about 7am went to the Christian tent and had coffee with them! after coffee I started packing up to leave! it didn't take me too long to get done but longer to say my good bye's then I stopped at the top of the hill to say bye up there and headed for the gate! this takes a bit since there is always a line who are trying to get out! it takes a bit longer than most because of the extra precaution of checking arm band against bike band to prevent thefts! this is really a good idea for an event this size! finally I was out on the road! I made it 50 miles to where I wanted to fill up with gas! it was kind of funny because while I was there the cashier ask me about the boogie and then mentioned a guy that rode all the way from okla to attend that stopped there for gas! she even remembered my name! I ask her if I had changed that much! she said it had been two years since she saw me! ok I'll accept that! haha |

from there headed south on highway 37 watching the clouds as I made my way back thru the forest one min I would think I'm going to miss this and the next I'm going to get wet! well about 10 miles from English the rain drops started very lightly and as I went south they got heavier! I was just about to pull over and put my wet gear on when I rode out of the rain. it was on to I-65 then headed west. The ride was almost a first! the first time I didn't get wet on the trip! it was just enough to get me wet! it did cool me off so it was ok! it also made the next 200 miles much nicer! I was almost to St Lewis before I got hot again! I got thru St Lewis smooth I missed most of the traffic. and ended stopping in Cuba Mo. for gas about 65 miles from my sisters place where the Ole Lady was! I pulled in and as I was getting gas I noticed a white spot on my rear tire about half the size of a dime! opps that rough pavement from St Lewis to Cuba was hard on my back tire. that spot is cords showing thru. I slowed down to around 65 for the last part to my sisters. when I got there the white spot had grown to the size of half dollar. I was planning to stay at my sisters for the night but now I have to go to a bike shop for a new tire! I unloaded the bike and took the tire off and had it ready to go to Rolla on Monday morning! the funny thing is that I had to take it to a Honda shop! they had a tire for me and got right on it! along with a headlight bulb! which I discovered the low beam was out sat night on the way back to camp. after about two hours and $125 I had a new tire mounted and balanced and a new headlight bulb!
