I did make a stop by the T-shirt booth and pick up a few boogie shirts and then over to the booth to pick up my tickets for the bike, or as I put it, make my annual donation to Abate of Indiana well it all goes to a good cause! I have a few friends that want shirts so I can drop over a $150 just on shirts! I do remember stopping to eat in there some where a philly cheese at my favorite place! thanks guys! well anyway I spend a lot of time walking around and photographing a lot of stuff! trying to get a good representation of the boogie! then about 2 in the morning or when everything dies down I make my way to bed! I got up around 9am how I managed to sleep so late is beyond me but I did! I slipped over to the Christian tent and got some coffee and eat my pop-tarts I just kind of hung around taking it easy! the next thing I knew I noticed the gang getting ready for the games! I went to get my bike and move it across the road and warm it up I also started looking for some one to play in the games with me! I found one girl to do the winnie bite with me after a little talking! while practicing for the winnie bite I got crooked on a hill and caught my highway peg and snapped it off. which would prove to be a handicap later but oh well. I got all my camera equipment gathered up so I can get pic of the games! I didn't do very well in the slow race because my feet were not on my normal set of pegs, we made it to the second round in the winnie bite contest in-spite of the fact the young girl had never tried it before! Saturday always ends up being a very busy day! as it turns out I didn't even get to shoot all the games before I needed to go over to the next pavilion to get pictures of the tattoo contest! and I almost didn't get there in time they were done with the judging when |
I got there but I did get most of the tattoos! then I ran back and finished the games. I got lucky and got some great shots of the water-bucket race! not sure what the official name for this is! anyway when that was done I hightailed it up to the main gate to shoot some pic of the bike show I got there just-in time I ran around and tried to get some good shots of most of the bikes but the way they are grouped together sometimes it is hard to get a good shot! if a bike you think should have been included is not here it probably is because I could not get a good shot! most of the bikes that were there were worthy of being included but some could not be photographed well! I did stick around to get pictures of the awards! the pic will tell who got trophies but I want to mention the best of show Radical Randy got the trophy there! while I was visiting with him I found out a lot of the one off parts that make his bike unique were made by Covington Customs in Woodward Ok. my home state! since I know Jerry and his boys I offered to make sure they got pic of the bike and trophy! Ok well after all that I made my way back to the stage area I got there just in time to catch a wedding party then slipped up to the stage to catch the band then back to my bike. I needed to see if my friend Curly (Fat Hogs of Indy) had the pieces to fix my highway peg so when I headed home I would be comfortable for the ride! Well after trial and error several times I manage to find the parts to fix it but since it had been re-wielded once before I had to re drill the hole for a bigger bolt! I need to thank Ron for letting me use his drill to do the job! I know he is there to work on bikes so it means a lot to me that he did! both he and Curly are old school brothers! thanks again guys! ok after about 2 and a half hours of messing with mine I had it ready to make the trip home! but by this time I had just enough time to get a bite to eat and snag a couple of pic under the big top before the presentations on the stage, |
